The beauty of Desa Petaling Hiking Trail lies in its diverse terrain. From relatively flat sections perfect for a leisurely stroll to steeper inclines that will certainly get your heart pumping, the trail ensures a varied experience. The presence of ropes in some of the more challenging areas is a thoughtful touch, making these sections manageable for hikers of all levels and ensuring safety. This thoughtful provision means that you can challenge yourself without feeling overwhelmed, making your hiking experience both enjoyable and effective. Many local users have praised the trail for its ability to offer a strenuous workout in a relatively short timeframe, making it ideal for those with busy schedules.
The Desa Petaling Hiking Trail is conveniently located at Jalan 5/125, Desa Petaling, 57100 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Its position within the bustling Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur makes it an ideal spot for those seeking a quick escape from city life without having to travel too far. This accessibility is a major draw for local residents, allowing them to easily incorporate a nature-filled activity into their daily or weekly routine.
Getting to the trail can be a bit of an adventure in itself, particularly when it comes to parking. As it’s nestled amidst residential condominiums, parking can be challenging due to the prevalence of cars parked outside. If you’re lucky, you might snag a spot right near the entrance. Otherwise, don't be deterred; you can often find parking a bit further away, approximately 100-200 meters from the hiking place. This short walk simply adds to the anticipation of reaching the trail. For those relying on public transport, while direct access might be limited, ride-sharing services can easily bring you to the trailhead, making it a viable option for many across KL. The entrance itself is straightforward to find, typically on your left as you approach, and you'll often pass by a DIY gym area before stepping onto the main hiking trail, signaling that you're in the right place.
While Desa Petaling Hiking Trail is primarily a natural, public outdoor space, it offers inherent "services" through its design and the experience it provides:

- Beginner-Friendly Sections: Despite the challenging parts, there are also sections that are short and gentle enough for beginners, making it an inclusive environment for new hikers.
- Engaging Short Hike: Many reviewers note that it's a "very fun 45-minute hike," providing a rewarding experience even for those with limited time.
- Ropes for Assistance: The ropes tied in steep areas are a significant highlight, offering crucial support and making tricky ascents and descents safer and more manageable.

- Natural Environment for Stress Relief: The lush greenery and quiet atmosphere provide a perfect setting for mental relaxation and stress reduction, a much-needed respite from city life.
- Good Grip Shoes and Mosquito Repellent are Essentials: While not a feature of the trail itself, the frequent mention of these necessities by users highlights the trail's natural, unpaved conditions, underscoring its authenticity as a raw hiking experience.
As a public hiking area, Desa Petaling Hiking Trail (青龍山) does not typically offer formal promotions or special offers in the traditional sense, such as discounts or loyalty programs. However, its greatest "promotion" is its free accessibility to the public. There are no entrance fees, making it an incredibly cost-effective option for regular exercise and enjoyment of nature. The inherent value lies in its availability as a community resource for health and recreation. Any informal "promotions" would likely come from community groups organizing clean-ups or group hikes, which would be communicated through local social media channels or community boards rather than through official channels of the hiking area itself.
As a natural, publicly accessible hiking area rather than a commercial establishment, there isn't a dedicated contact number or email for the Desa Petaling Hiking Trail itself. However, you can locate it easily using the following address:

Desa Petaling, Kuala Lumpur 青龍山 Reviews
This place is good to train up your muscles and it has quiet steep terrain yo practice your muscles. There are ropes tied in the steep areas of the hike to help us to hike up or down. This hike is a short hike and also friendly for beginners too.Me and my friends really enjoyed this hike.Just to inform that there were dogs but they are friendlyParking would be challenging as it's in between the condos filled with cars parked outside. If you are lucky , definitely you could get them. Otherwise you could park further abit and walk about 100-200m to the hiking place.
Oct 04, 2024 · Shamala DeviA very fun 45 min hike, with ropes and view! I would say that mosquito repellant and shoes with good grip are essentials! The ground can be very slippery and dangerous if it rain the day before. The entrance is pretty straight forward (on your left) and you will be passing by a DIY gym into the hiking trail.
Oct 05, 2021 · SoonGreat hike here. Beautiful view through the trees. Lots of birds and butterflies. Peaceful place.

Apr 25, 2021 · Yohann OngWhen there today in the morning! Love the community here. They are so friendly and helpful! As it was my first time, I was surprised to see a hiking trail right behind of many condos in Desa Petaling. It is a 2km hiking loop. So don't worry about getting lost as you always return to where you started! It's very easy hike with mix of flat surface and forest trails, but the view across KL and nature are amazing! You get to see some squirrels and maccabees if you are lucky, especially near the abandoned wooden house.Met with some locals and apparently it was made by the local community back in August 2020 due to MCO lockdown. Wonderful! They asked me to help taking care of this area. So anyone visiting here, do keep ourselves clean, pick up trashes and help nipping off blocking tree branches! Haha~Don't forget. You can get to Salak South New Village (Kampung Baru Salak South) here. They have some great food too. But do check first if you need halal food.Tips: Wear long pants if you are afraid of mosquito bites.
