This mosque is situated in the bustling area of Bangsar South. I visited during Ramadan for iftar and tarawih prayers. Iftar was held in the spacious and comfortable, air-conditioned at the lower ground floor hall. The food was also good, and the committee members were friendly. The fully air-conditioned prayer hall, carpeted with fluffy carpet, provides a comfortable atmosphere for our mahrib, isyak and tarawih prayer. For ladies, there are two prayer areas, one on the ground floor and another on the first floor. There's an elevator inside the mosque to ensure easy access to each floor. The ladies' toilet is conveniently located on the ground floor near the prayer hall, and it's clean. During tarawih prayers, the imam's beautiful voice enhances my tarawih experience here. Also, he doesn't take too long in his readings so it is a plus point, well, at least for me. However, my only complaint is that the car park is quite small, and the air conditioning cannot be felt on the first floor of the women's prayer hall, making it slightly uncomfortable during tarawih prayers. But overall, it was okay. The moreh was also good. Kudos to the committee and maintenance team for their efforts in maintaining the mosque - Nur

Masjid Ar-Rahah Introduce

For those of us living and working in the dynamic heart of Kuala Lumpur, especially in the bustling Bangsar South area, finding a peaceful and well-equipped place for spiritual reflection and community engagement is truly invaluable. This is precisely what Masjid Ar-Rahah offers. Nestled amidst the urban landscape of Kampung Kerinchi, this mosque stands as a beacon of tranquility and a vibrant hub for the local Muslim community. It's more than just a place of worship; it's a sanctuary where locals can connect with their faith, find solace, and strengthen their communal bonds.

Masjid Ar-Rahah has garnered a reputation for its modern facilities and its dedication to providing a comfortable and enriching experience for its congregants. As one satisfied visitor during Ramadan noted, it's a place with "spacious and comfortable, air-conditioned" halls, highlighting the attention to detail in creating a conducive environment for prayer and activities. In a city where comfort is increasingly valued, especially during intense periods of worship like Tarawih prayers, a mosque that prioritizes such amenities truly stands out. It embodies the thoughtful integration of modern convenience with traditional spiritual needs, making it a beloved institution for many in Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur.

Its presence in a busy area like Bangsar South means that it serves as a convenient stop for many, whether they are commuting, working nearby, or residing in the surrounding neighborhoods. This accessibility, combined with its welcoming atmosphere and dedicated services, makes Masjid Ar-Rahah a highly suitable and cherished destination for locals seeking spiritual nourishment and community connection in Kuala Lumpur. It's a testament to the thriving Muslim community in the capital city, constantly striving to provide excellent facilities for its members.

Location and Accessibility

Masjid Ar-Rahah is strategically located at 51805, Jalan Kerinchi Kiri 2, Kampung Kerinchi, 59200 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This address places the mosque firmly within the active and rapidly developing precinct of Bangsar South, making it highly accessible for a large segment of Kuala Lumpur's Muslim population. Kampung Kerinchi, while retaining some of its traditional charm, is seamlessly integrated into the modern urban fabric of Bangsar South.

One of the significant advantages of Masjid Ar-Rahah's location is its excellent connectivity to major transportation networks. As one review mentions, the mosque is "located around the busy area of Bangsar South," and can even be "seen from the Federal Highway." This visibility makes it easy to spot for those driving by. For those relying on public transport, the mosque is well-served by the LRT, with Kerinchi LRT station being in close proximity. This offers a convenient option for many to reach the mosque without the hassle of driving, especially during peak hours or for daily prayers. Numerous bus routes also traverse the Bangsar South area, further enhancing its accessibility for local residents.

While a previous review noted that "the car park is quite small," which can be a common challenge in bustling urban areas, the availability of public transport options helps to mitigate this. The mosque's position near commercial hubs like The Horizon and Nexus Bangsar South means it's a convenient stop for those working or residing in these areas. Its integration into this vibrant neighborhood solidifies Masjid Ar-Rahah's role as an accessible spiritual landmark for the community in Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur.

Services Offered

Masjid Ar-Rahah provides a comprehensive array of services designed to cater to the spiritual, educational, and communal needs of its congregants. Leveraging its modern facilities, it offers much more than just a space for daily prayers:

  • Daily Congregational Prayers (Solat Berjemaah): The mosque is open for all five daily prayers, providing a comfortable and serene environment for Muslims to perform their prayers in congregation. The "fully air-conditioned prayer hall, carpeted with fluffy carpet," ensures a comfortable experience for all.

  • Ramadan Programs: As highlighted in a customer review, the mosque excels in its Ramadan offerings, including organised "Iftar and Tarawih prayers." The "spacious and comfortable, air-conditioned at the lower ground floor hall" for iftar, along with "good food" and the Imam's "beautiful voice" during Tarawih, make it a popular choice during the holy month. Moreh (supper after Tarawih) is also provided.

  • Religious Lectures and Classes (Ceramah and Kelas Agama): Mosques typically host regular religious talks, lectures, and classes for various age groups, covering topics from Quranic studies to Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and general Islamic knowledge. These educational sessions foster spiritual growth and understanding.

  • Ladies' Prayer Areas: The mosque thoughtfully provides "two prayer areas" for ladies, "one on the ground floor and another on the first floor," ensuring ample space and comfort for female congregants.

  • Accessibility Features (Elevator): A significant service is the provision of an "elevator inside the mosque to ensure easy access to each floor." This makes the mosque inclusive and accessible for the elderly, disabled, and those with young children, ensuring everyone can participate comfortably.

  • Clean Facilities: The mosque prides itself on maintaining "clean" and conveniently located facilities, including "the ladies' toilet on the ground floor near the prayer hall," contributing to a pleasant experience for all visitors.

  • Community Engagement and Events: Beyond formal prayers, Masjid Ar-Rahah likely serves as a venue for various community events, gatherings, and welfare activities, fostering a strong sense of brotherhood and sisterhood among its members. The friendly committee members also contribute to this welcoming environment.

These services collectively underscore Masjid Ar-Rahah's role as a comprehensive and highly suitable center for Muslim spiritual life in Kuala Lumpur.

Features / Highlights

Masjid Ar-Rahah distinguishes itself with several key features and highlights that greatly enhance the worship and community experience for locals in Kuala Lumpur:

  • Fully Air-Conditioned Prayer Halls: This is a major comfort feature, especially in Malaysia's tropical climate. As noted by a reviewer, the main prayer hall is "fully air-conditioned" and even has "fluffy carpet," creating an exceptionally comfortable environment for extended prayers like Tarawih. While a minor issue was noted for the ladies' first-floor area, the overall commitment to comfort is a significant plus.

  • Spacious and Well-Maintained Facilities: The mosque offers ample space, particularly the "spacious and comfortable" hall on the lower ground floor used for iftar and other gatherings. The dedication of the "committee and maintenance team for their efforts in maintaining the mosque" ensures a clean and pleasant environment throughout.

  • Excellent Accessibility for All: The inclusion of an "elevator inside the mosque to ensure easy access to each floor" is a standout feature, making the mosque truly inclusive for the elderly, individuals with mobility challenges, and families with strollers. This thoughtful design ensures that no one is hindered from accessing prayer areas.

  • Dedicated Ladies' Prayer Areas: Providing "two prayer areas" for ladies (ground and first floor) demonstrates a clear consideration for female congregants, offering them ample and comfortable space for their prayers.

  • Inspiring Imam's Recitation: A key highlight for many worshippers is the quality of the Imam's recitation. One reviewer specifically praised the "imam's beautiful voice" which "enhances my tarawih experience here," and also appreciated that he "doesn't take too long in his readings," catering to diverse preferences.

  • Community-Focused Spirit: The friendly committee members and the provision of good food during iftar and moreh illustrate a strong community spirit. Masjid Ar-Rahah acts as a warm and welcoming hub where locals can socialize, share meals, and strengthen their bonds beyond just religious rituals.

  • Strategic Urban Location: Its visibility from the Federal Highway and proximity to Bangsar South's commercial and residential areas make it a convenient and well-known landmark. This prime location allows it to serve a large working and residential population effectively.

These features collectively define Masjid Ar-Rahah as a modern, inclusive, and highly commendable place of worship for the Muslim community in Kuala Lumpur.

Promotions or Special Offers

As a mosque, Masjid Ar-Rahah does not engage in commercial "promotions" or "special offers" in the traditional business sense. Its mission is to provide spiritual services and facilitate communal activities for the Muslim community.

However, it continuously offers invaluable "benefits" and "provisions" to its congregants and the wider community, which can be seen as its unique form of "promotion":

  • Free Access to Prayer Facilities: The most fundamental offering is providing a clean, comfortable, and air-conditioned space for daily and congregational prayers, accessible to all Muslims free of charge. This is a constant and open "offer" for spiritual solace and devotion.

  • Complimentary Religious Programs: Regular religious lectures, classes, and Quranic study sessions are typically offered at no cost (though voluntary contributions are always welcome). These educational opportunities are a significant "promotion" for spiritual growth and knowledge acquisition within the community.

  • Free Iftar and Moreh during Ramadan: As evidenced by customer reviews, the mosque provides complimentary iftar meals and moreh (supper) during the holy month of Ramadan. This generous provision brings the community together and supports those observing the fast, acting as a highly valued "special offer" during this blessed period.

  • Community Support and Welfare Initiatives: Mosques often serve as centers for charity, Zakat collection and distribution, and support for the needy within the local community. While not a direct "promotion" to individuals, these welfare activities are an immense benefit to the collective, fostering social responsibility.

  • Accessible Facilities for All: The presence of an elevator and dedicated ladies' prayer areas, while an investment for the mosque, is effectively a "promotion" of inclusivity, ensuring that all members of the community, regardless of age or physical ability, can comfortably access and utilize the mosque's facilities.

  • Spiritual Enrichment through Inspiring Imams: The presence of Imams with beautiful recitations and balanced sermon lengths (as highlighted by a reviewer) can be considered a "spiritual promotion," enhancing the prayer experience and attracting more congregants to the mosque.

Any specific events, such as special talks, workshops, or charity drives, would be announced through the mosque's internal channels, notice boards, or possibly local community groups. For information on these, locals are encouraged to visit the mosque or check for community announcements.
