Hello, fellow food adventurers of Kuala Lumpur! In a city renowned for its incredible street food and bustling hawker centers, finding a spot that truly captures the essence of Malaysian flavors is always a rewarding experience. Today, we're taking a closer look at Mee Goreng Tanglin, a notable stall located within the well-known Kompleks Makan Tanglin. While this food court is perhaps most famous for Nasi Lemak Tanglin, Mee Goreng Tanglin offers its own distinct range of delights, especially if you're a fan of stir-fried noodles and rice dishes. It's a place where you can soak in a truly local atmosphere while savoring classic Malaysian comfort food.
Mee Goreng Tanglin operates from "Kedai No : 4" within the vibrant Kompleks Makan Tanglin, a hub for traditional Malaysian breakfast and lunch. This setting means you're not just getting a meal; you're stepping into a lively local scene, complete with the aromatic scents of various dishes, the cheerful chatter of diners, and sometimes even the pleasant surprise of live entertainment, as one customer noted about a busker singing Raya songs beautifully. It's a place that buzzes with energy, making your dining experience truly immersive and authentic.
While the name prominently features "Mee Goreng," suggesting a specialization in stir-fried noodles, customer reviews indicate that their menu extends to other popular Malaysian staples like Nasi Goreng Cina. This diversity allows patrons to explore different flavors, solidifying its appeal to a broad spectrum of local palates. The location within the Perdana Botanical Gardens area adds to its charm, providing a refreshing backdrop of nature, and yes, sometimes even playful monkeys, making it a unique spot for a meal. Whether you're craving a plate of fragrant fried rice or a comforting bowl of noodles, Mee Goreng Tanglin aims to deliver authentic tastes in a truly Malaysian setting.
Mee Goreng Tanglin is conveniently located within a bustling local food hub, making it quite accessible for residents and visitors exploring Kuala Lumpur. You'll find it at:
Kedai No : 4 , Kompleks Makan Tanglin KL MY, Jalan Cenderasari, Perdana Botanical Gardens, 50480 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia.
This address places Mee Goreng Tanglin specifically inside Kompleks Makan Tanglin, a well-known food court in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. The food court itself is situated in the picturesque vicinity of the Perdana Botanical Gardens (also known as Lake Gardens), a major green lung and recreational area in the city. This location means you can combine a delicious meal with a visit to nearby attractions such as the KL Bird Park, National Museum, or simply a leisurely stroll through the botanical gardens.
For those driving, the Kompleks Makan Tanglin area is generally well-known and can be easily navigated using GPS applications like Google Maps or Waze. The food court is typically associated with ample parking, which is a significant advantage in Kuala Lumpur. While it can get busy, especially during peak meal times, the availability of parking makes it a convenient option for families and groups.
Public transportation also offers a viable route to Mee Goreng Tanglin. The food court is a short distance from major public transport hubs. For example, KL Sentral, which serves as a central interchange for various train lines (LRT, MRT, KTM Komuter, ERL) and numerous bus routes, is relatively close by. From KL Sentral, you can easily take a quick e-hailing service (like Grab), a taxi, or a local bus that serves the Tasik Perdana/Perdana Botanical Gardens area. This connectivity ensures that locals from different parts of Kuala Lumpur can reach Mee Goreng Tanglin without much difficulty, making it a convenient spot for an authentic Malaysian meal. The journey itself can be part of the local experience, offering glimpses of the city's vibrant street life.
Mee Goreng Tanglin operates as a specialized stall within Kompleks Makan Tanglin, focusing on a range of popular Malaysian noodle and rice dishes. Based on public information and customer reviews, here are the services you can typically expect:
Dine-In Service: Customers can enjoy their meals directly at the food court. Kompleks Makan Tanglin offers a casual, open-concept dining environment. This includes ample seating, providing a comfortable space for individuals, couples, families, and groups to gather and savor their food. The atmosphere is often lively and bustling, reflecting a typical Malaysian food court experience.
Takeaway Service: For those who prefer to enjoy their food elsewhere, takeaway options are readily available for all menu items. This is a convenient service for quick pick-ups, especially popular during busy lunch hours or for those heading to work or home.
Specialized Noodle and Rice Dishes: As the name suggests, Mee Goreng Tanglin specializes in stir-fried noodles and rice. Key offerings mentioned include:
Mee Goreng (various types): While specific types aren't detailed in the provided reviews, the name implies a focus on this Malaysian favorite.
Yee Mee Kungfu: This dish is explicitly mentioned by customers, although with mixed reviews regarding waiting time and taste. It seems to be a popular item, highlighting their noodle range.
Nasi Goreng Cina: Praised as "quite authentic and fulfilling, with a lot of chicken chunks and a telur mata," indicating a well-executed version of this classic Chinese-style fried rice.
Other Noodles: Given the focus on "Mee" (noodles), it's highly probable they offer other noodle variations beyond just Mee Goreng and Yee Mee, such as Mee Hailam, Mee Kari, etc., as commonly found in such stalls.
Beverage Offerings: As part of a food court, a variety of hot and cold beverages are typically available from the same or neighboring stalls to complement your meal.
Efficient (Generally) Food Preparation: While one review notes significant waiting times for a specific dish (Yee Mee Kungfu), other dishes might be prepared more quickly. Food stalls in such busy locations generally aim for efficiency to cater to a high volume of customers.
It's important for customers to be mindful of potential waiting times, especially for complex or less frequently ordered dishes during peak periods. However, the core service revolves around delivering flavorful, traditional Malaysian comfort food.
Mee Goreng Tanglin, located within the bustling Kompleks Makan Tanglin, offers several distinctive features and highlights that contribute to its unique appeal, despite some specific feedback:
Authentic Nasi Goreng Cina: A significant highlight is their Nasi Goreng Cina. A customer specifically praised it as "quite authentic and fulfilling, with a lot of chicken chunks and a telur mata (fried egg)." This indicates a well-prepared, hearty version of a beloved local staple. The enthusiasm ("I can't wait to have other menus") suggests a strong positive impression.
Vibrant Food Court Atmosphere: The overall ambiance of Kompleks Makan Tanglin is a major feature. It's described as "open concept food court with the iconic Nasi Lemak Tanglin. Super chill and breezy." This provides a lively and authentic local dining experience, complete with the energy of other popular stalls and the comfort of an open setting.
Live Entertainment (Occasionally): The delightful surprise of a "talented busker singing Raya songs so beautifully" adds a unique charm to the dining experience. While not a daily guarantee, the possibility of live local music enhances the pleasant, relaxed atmosphere.
Unique Natural Surroundings: The food court is situated in "KL's urban jungle, surrounded by big trees that are adorned by a troop of monkeys." This natural setting offers a refreshing contrast to typical city dining and provides a memorable backdrop, though diners should be mindful of their belongings due to the monkeys.
Connection to Nasi Lemak Tanglin: Being located in the same complex as the "iconic Nasi Lemak Tanglin" means that patrons can potentially enjoy a wider range of famous Malaysian dishes in one visit, drawing a larger crowd to the area.
Broad Menu beyond Mee Goreng: While the name is "Mee Goreng Tanglin," the mention of Nasi Goreng Cina and Yee Mee Kungfu indicates a wider variety of stir-fried rice and noodle dishes, catering to different preferences.
While there are notes about long waiting times and occasional issues with specific dishes like Yee Mee Kungfu, the positive aspects, particularly the ambiance and the quality of other signature dishes like Nasi Goreng Cina, contribute significantly to Mee Goreng Tanglin's appeal as a local eatery.
Mee Goreng Tanglin, operating as a stall within a traditional Malaysian food court, typically focuses on providing consistent quality and value rather than running frequent, formalized "promotions" or "special offers" like larger, chain restaurants. Its appeal lies in its authentic local flavors and community atmosphere.
However, based on the nature of similar local eateries in Kuala Lumpur, you might find or benefit from:
Everyday Value Pricing: The core "offer" is the inherently good price-to-quality ratio of their dishes. While specific prices aren't provided in the reviews, local food stalls generally aim to provide satisfying meals that are affordable for daily consumption. This consistent value is a form of ongoing "promotion" for regulars.
Combo Deals (Informal): Occasionally, the stall might offer informal combo deals, such as a set meal of a main dish with a drink, which might provide a slight discount compared to ordering items individually. These are usually part of their regular menu rather than temporary promotions.
Seasonal or Daily Specials: While not a guarantee, some food stalls might introduce seasonal specials or a "dish of the day" depending on ingredient availability or local festive seasons. These are typically communicated via a whiteboard or verbally by the stall operators.
Food Delivery Platform Discounts: If Mee Goreng Tanglin is listed on popular food delivery services (e.g., Foodpanda, GrabFood), these platforms often run their own promotions. Customers might find discount codes, free delivery offers, or percentage-off deals when ordering through these third-party apps. These promotions are initiated by the delivery service, not directly by the stall, but still benefit the customer.
It is always advisable to check the menu board at the stall when you visit or look up their presence on food delivery platforms for the most current information regarding any potential deals. For a traditional food stall like Mee Goreng Tanglin, the main draw remains its authentic taste and its established presence within a beloved local food court.
Mee Goreng Tanglin, being a specific stall within Kompleks Makan Tanglin, primarily relies on its physical presence for customer interaction. However, essential contact information is available for those wishing to reach out or locate the stall.
The most crucial piece of information for visitors is its precise location within the food court:

For direct phone contact, the following numbers have been provided:

It is always recommended to call ahead, especially for a specific dish like "Yee Mee Kungfu," if you are concerned about preparation time. This direct line can help manage expectations and ensure a smoother visit. Additionally, searching for "Mee Goreng Tanglin" on popular food delivery platforms might also provide contact options or direct ordering capabilities if they are listed there.
Mee Goreng Tanglin, nestled within the iconic Kompleks Makan Tanglin, stands as a highly suitable and appealing dining spot for locals in Wilayah Persekutuan, Kuala Lumpur. Despite some noted challenges with specific dishes, its overall offerings and environment make it a compelling choice for everyday meals and authentic experiences.
Firstly, its deep-rooted authenticity and diverse menu cater directly to the local palate. While specializing in Mee Goreng, the praise for its "Nasi Goreng Cina" as "authentic and fulfilling" demonstrates its ability to deliver on popular Malaysian comfort food. For locals, this means a reliable spot for familiar and well-loved flavors, prepared with a touch of home-cooked goodness. It's a place where you can grab a quick, satisfying meal that truly represents the diverse culinary landscape of Malaysia, beyond just its namesake dish.
Secondly, the vibrant and charming local atmosphere provides a dining experience that goes beyond just the food. The "open concept food court" is described as "super chill and breezy," creating a relaxed and inviting environment. Being part of Kompleks Makan Tanglin means locals are immersed in a lively hub, often featuring the pleasant backdrop of "talented busker singing Raya songs" or the unique sight of "a troop of monkeys" in the surrounding trees. This cultural immersion and natural setting make it more than just a quick meal; it's a slice of authentic Kuala Lumpur life, perfect for a casual outing with family and friends.
Thirdly, the convenient location and accessibility are significant factors for Kuala Lumpur residents. Situated within the well-known Perdana Botanical Gardens, and specifically near its multi-storey carparks, it offers ease of access for those driving. This cuts down on the common city hassle of finding parking. Furthermore, its proximity to major public transport hubs like KL Sentral makes it reachable for those relying on trains and e-hailing services. This convenience ensures that a satisfying Malaysian meal is never too far away, whether for a spontaneous breakfast or a planned lunch.
Lastly, the overall sense of a tried-and-true local establishment appeals to residents. While the mixed reviews for Yee Mee Kungfu serve as a reminder to be mindful of expectations for certain dishes, the consistent popularity of the food court as a whole, coupled with positive feedback on other items, indicates that Mee Goreng Tanglin remains a valued part of the local culinary scene. Its presence contributes to the overall appeal of Kompleks Makan Tanglin as a go-to for authentic, everyday Malaysian eats.
In conclusion, Mee Goreng Tanglin offers locals in Kuala Lumpur a true taste of Malaysian cuisine within a vibrant, accessible, and naturally charming food court setting. It’s a place where the flavors are authentic, the atmosphere is inviting, and the experience is distinctly local, solidifying its place as a suitable and cherished spot for city residents.

Beware of waiting time more than 40 minutes for this yee mee kungfu.Yee Mee Kungfu: Saw earlier review about them serving yee mee kungfu after 40 minutes. Ours, order placed at 10am & we was not been told we need to wait almost an hour for this yee mee kungfu! after few times asking, eventually around 1045am this yee mee kungfu arrived. It was served warm & tasteless, as if eating keropok mee with thick tasteless gravy! First time trying this, hence this shall be our last time coming back to this store! Habis our plan for that afternoon delay bcz of our time was wasted due to waited for them to serve this yee mee kungfu! The atmosphere best. open concept food court with the iconic Nasi Lemak Tanglin. Apr 06, 2025 · Athirah S.This food stall is located in KL's urban jungle, surrounded by big trees that are adorned by a troop of monkeys. I love their nasi goreng Cina. Tasted quite authentic and fulfilling, with a lot of chicken chunks and a telur mata. I can't wait to have other menus.
Apr 13, 2025 · Aditya PratamaChinese-style wok hei char kuey teow, mee goreng, wantan noodle, curry mee etc. All of them are good, but the best one is the char kuey teow. Price is very reasonable and portion is satisfying. The best dish in Tanglin food court, better value over the ikan bakar or nasi lemak.Atmosphere-wise on weekends there’s a malay lady singing Malay, English and Chinese songs that is popular with the crowd.
Oct 08, 2024 · Aiman ACame during breakfast on Sunday around 9am. This is a great spot to try some authentic Chinese mee kari with fresh kerang. Just be prepared for a queue and short wait once ordered. Just sabar you will be seated and ready.
