Nasi Lemak Tanglin is conveniently located at Kompleks Makan Tanglin, Gerai, No. 6, Jalan Cenderasari, Wilayah Persekutuan, 50480 Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This places it within the heart of Kuala Lumpur's vibrant Tasik Perdana (Lake Gardens) area, making it an accessible and well-known landmark for locals.
Its location within Kompleks Makan Tanglin (Tanglin Food Court) means it's part of a bustling culinary hub, making it easy to find. Accessibility is a major advantage for diners from across Kuala Lumpur. For those relying on public transportation, the nearest LRT/MRT station is Pasar Seni, which is approximately a 10-15 minute walk away through the scenic Lake Gardens, or a very short ride-hailing trip. Numerous bus routes also serve the Jalan Cenderasari area. If you're driving, ample parking is usually available within the vicinity of Kompleks Makan Tanglin, though it's worth noting that it can get busy, especially during peak breakfast hours and weekends. This central and well-connected location ensures that enjoying an authentic Nasi Lemak breakfast at Tanglin is a convenient and effortless affair for locals.
Nasi Lemak Tanglin, primarily functioning as a specialized breakfast restaurant within a food court, focuses its services on delivering a quintessential Nasi Lemak experience. Their key offerings include:
- Specialized Nasi Lemak: The core service is serving their famous, traditional Nasi Lemak. This includes their signature steamed coconut milk rice, a choice of various accompaniments, and the all-important sambal.
- Variety of Accompaniments: Diners can typically choose from a range of side dishes to complement their Nasi Lemak, such as fried chicken (ayam goreng), fried eggs, sambal sotong (squid sambal), beef rendang, and more.
- **"Mee Kicap":** Besides Nasi Lemak, the restaurant also offers other traditional Malay breakfast items, specifically mentioned as "mee kicap," providing an alternative for those seeking something different.
- Dine-In Service: Providing a casual, open-air or semi-open setting with tables and chairs where customers can enjoy their breakfast on-site. The "vibe was nice," especially "not too crowded if you come early in the morning."
- Takeaway Service: Offers convenient takeaway options for customers who prefer to enjoy their Nasi Lemak elsewhere, perhaps at home or at work.

Nasi Lemak Tanglin is celebrated for several distinctive features and highlights that have contributed to its long-standing popularity and iconic status in Kuala Lumpur:

As a traditional, long-standing breakfast establishment within a food court setting, Nasi Lemak Tanglin typically focuses on consistent quality and value rather than frequent promotional offers. The "offer" itself is the consistently delicious and affordable Nasi Lemak.
However, it's not impossible for them to occasionally participate in broader food court-wide initiatives or have informal specials. Any specific promotions would likely be advertised directly at their stall or through their active social media presence if they have one.
It's common for popular local eateries like Nasi Lemak Tanglin to maintain consistent pricing due to high demand and focus on product quality. For the most accurate and up-to-date information on their menu and any rare specials, the best approach is to visit the stall directly during operating hours or to check popular local food review sites and communities, as fellow foodies might share updates.

Nasi Lemak Tanglin Reviews
Went here on Saturday and had the nasi lemak and mee kicap — both were tasty. The flavours really hit the spot, and the portion was satisfying. The vibe was nice too, not too crowded if you come early in the morning. Definitely coming back again to try the other items on the menu. Highly recommended!
Apr 26, 2025 · Mohd IkramAs one of the popular nasi lemak place for decades, this shop is always having good crowds. The steamed coconut milk rice is very fragrantful. Sambal is also pretty good but the fried chicken is somehow just average only. Price is 11 ringgits for a nasi lemak ayam goreng. The Tanglin outlet in Damansara Uptown is actually much better and the atmosphere there is also much more conducive. Overall a good old school nasi lemak.
Feb 26, 2025 · Chuah W PangEither you come on weekdays or weekend it is always crowded with long queue. Best to come before lunch hours. Price is still reasonable & you may order other food from other stalls if Nasi Lemak is not your kind of thing. Tables are also limited so better get off fast after eating to give way to other people.
Jun 08, 2025 · Lini LynnA nice stop for a day-trip around the park, within walking distance from other spots in the park. The food was alright, especially the char kuey teow. The place was quite hot because there’s no fan. Crowded and noisy at lunch time, some sellers are friendly while some are not too enthusiastic.
May 11, 2025 · Bảo Ngân Dương HồHere I had a proper nasi lemak. The sambal was mildly spicy and not too sweet, just enjoyable. The ayam Bali was tasty, too. Too bad they were run out of paru when I came.
