Ruby ETS Lounge (KL Sentral)

Kuala Lumpur City Air Terminal Departure Hall, Brickfields, Jalan Stesen Sentral, Kuala Lumpur Sentral, 50470 Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

4.0
It's pretty comfortable, AC is great but the service could be improved. Walked in and no one was at the counter, then the lady returned and asked me to scan my ticket which I already did, but had to repeat myself 3 times that I've scanned my ticket, before getting a grumpy eye roll from her.🤷 Wanted to get a cup of coffee but apparently there's no coffee, no notice around the coffee machine, just stickers covering the coffee icons on the screens. Not overly impressed tbh. - Vincent Teh

Ruby ETS Lounge (KL Sentral) Introduce

For many of us in Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur who regularly travel by train, particularly on the ETS service, the waiting experience can significantly impact the start or end of a journey. This is where the Ruby ETS Lounge at KL Sentral comes in, offering a dedicated space designed to elevate the comfort and convenience of your pre-departure or post-arrival moments. While its name might evoke images of a bustling 'night club', it’s important to clarify that Ruby ETS Lounge is not a night club in the traditional sense. Instead, it functions as a premium waiting lounge specifically for ETS business class ticket holders, providing a serene and comfortable environment amidst the vibrant activity of KL Sentral.

The lounge aims to provide a more relaxed and exclusive experience for its eligible patrons, moving beyond the usual busy station waiting areas. It's a thoughtful amenity designed to enhance your travel, offering a space where you can unwind, catch up on work, or simply enjoy a moment of peace before boarding your train. For locals who value comfort and efficiency in their travels, this lounge represents a tangible benefit of opting for business class.

Reviews from real customers offer a candid look at the lounge experience. One user noted, "It's pretty comfortable, AC is great." They also highlighted areas for improvement regarding service, mentioning an initial interaction with staff. However, another satisfied customer stated, "If you are a business class ticket holder, this is your comfortable waiting area. Hot drinks available with 3 choices (teh tarik, milo, coffee). Coach A passengers will be given priority to board the train 1st. Toilet is available despite the old design. I don't mind paying a bit more as long as I am more comfortable." These insights collectively paint a picture of a lounge that delivers on its promise of comfort and exclusive amenities, particularly for those seeking a more relaxed travel experience from our bustling KL Sentral. It's a valuable addition for the discerning local traveller.

The lounge is situated strategically within this departure area, making it easy to locate before your ETS train departure. Promotions or Special Offers

As the Ruby ETS Lounge (KL Sentral) is a dedicated facility for ETS business class ticket holders, its "promotion" primarily comes in the form of the enhanced travel experience it offers as part of the business class fare. Unlike a typical commercial establishment, it does not offer direct promotions, discounts, or special deals to the general public. Access to the lounge is generally included with the purchase of a valid ETS Business Class ticket.

Therefore, the "special offers" are intrinsically linked to the value proposition of the ETS Business Class service itself, which typically includes:

  • Lounge Access: The primary benefit, allowing a comfortable waiting experience.
  • Complimentary Refreshments: Hot drinks (teh tarik, Milo, coffee) are provided free of charge within the lounge.
  • Priority Boarding: A key convenience, especially for Coach A passengers, ensuring a smoother transition to the train.
  • Comfortable Seating on Train: Business class tickets also entail more spacious and comfortable seating on the ETS train itself.

Occasionally, KTM (Keretapi Tanah Melayu, the railway operator) might run promotions on their ETS Business Class tickets, which would indirectly act as a promotion for lounge access. These could include:

  • Seasonal Fare Discounts: During off-peak seasons or specific promotional periods, KTM might offer reduced fares for ETS Business Class tickets.
  • Package Deals: Rarely, bundles might be available that include travel and perhaps other amenities, but this is less common for just lounge access.
  • Loyalty Programs: If KTM has a loyalty program, earning points through business class travel might lead to future benefits.

To inquire about ETS Business Class ticket promotions or any specific lounge-related updates (though less common), it is best to directly contact KTM Berhad (the railway operator) or check their official website. The Ruby ETS Lounge's primary value remains its integral role in delivering a premium travel experience to its eligible patrons.

Conclusion: Why Ruby ETS Lounge is Suitable for Locals

For locals in Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur who frequently travel by train, particularly on the ETS business class service, the Ruby ETS Lounge at KL Sentral is an exceptionally suitable and valuable amenity. Its suitability stems from its precise catering to the needs of discerning travellers seeking comfort, efficiency, and a touch of exclusivity in their journeys.

Firstly, its strategic location within the Kuala Lumpur City Air Terminal Departure Hall at KL Sentral is its most significant advantage. As the city's central transportation hub, KL Sentral is seamlessly connected to virtually every part of Kuala Lumpur via LRT, MRT, Monorail, and KTM Komuter. This unparalleled accessibility means that locals can arrive at the lounge with minimal fuss, transitioning smoothly from their city commute directly into a comfortable waiting environment, avoiding the usual stresses of a busy station concourse.

Secondly, the lounge provides a much-needed sanctuary of comfort and tranquility. In a bustling city like Kuala Lumpur, having an air-conditioned, comfortable space to relax before a journey is a welcome luxury. The availability of complimentary hot beverages like teh tarik and Milo adds a familiar local touch, making the waiting experience more pleasant and reflective of home comforts. While some reviews note minor service improvements, the core offering of a comfortable, exclusive space is consistently delivered.

Furthermore, the practical benefits, such as priority boarding for Coach A passengers and dedicated restroom facilities, significantly enhance the overall travel experience. These conveniences contribute to a more relaxed and efficient departure, something that busy professionals and families alike will appreciate. Paying a bit extra for the business class ticket to access these amenities, as one reviewer put it, is a worthwhile investment for increased comfort. In essence, the Ruby ETS Lounge is suitable for locals because it transforms the often-mundane act of waiting for a train into a comfortable, convenient, and dignified experience, truly adding value to their travel within and beyond Kuala Lumpur.
