SCC Hotel Chinatown is designed for the traveler who values being at the center of the action and managing their budget effectively. It focuses on providing essential lodging in a prime location, catering to guests who are keen to explore the city rather than spend excessive time indoors. While it might not offer luxurious amenities, its strength lies in its strategic positioning, allowing guests to step out directly into the vibrant atmosphere of Chinatown. It’s an ideal choice for backpackers, solo adventurers, or locals seeking a no-frills, convenient base from which to discover the rich history, diverse culinary scene, and lively street life of Kuala Lumpur City Centre.
The location of SCC Hotel Chinatown is undeniably its most compelling feature, placing guests right at the pulse of Kuala Lumpur's most famous cultural district. Situated at 74-1, Jalan Petaling, City Centre, 50000 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the hostel is directly on Jalan Petaling, which is synonymous with the vibrant Chinatown area. This means that as soon as you step out of the hotel, you are surrounded by an abundance of activity.
Jalan Petaling is renowned for its bustling night market, an extensive array of food stalls, traditional shophouses, and a unique blend of historical charm and lively street commerce. As one customer aptly put it, "just outside the hotel, there were numerous food stalls and restaurants within the same area." This immediate proximity to diverse dining options, from authentic local hawker fare to popular cafes, is a significant advantage, allowing guests to embark on culinary adventures right at their doorstep. Beyond the immediate vicinity, the hotel’s City Centre location offers excellent accessibility to Kuala Lumpur’s comprehensive public transportation network. It is typically within a short walking distance to major LRT (Light Rail Transit) and MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) stations, such as Pasar Seni. This superb connectivity ensures that guests can effortlessly travel to other iconic areas of Kuala Lumpur, including the shopping districts of Bukit Bintang, the towering Petronas Twin Towers at KLCC, and the major transportation hub of KL Sentral. This prime and well-connected location significantly reduces travel time and expenses, allowing guests to maximize their time exploring the city's rich tapestry of sights and sounds.

- Clean Rooms: A positive aspect highlighted by a customer is that the "room was clean," which is fundamental for any accommodation.

SCC Hotel Chinatown Reviews
We stayed here for one night due to an unfortunate experience with Kitez Hotel. We booked a "Superior Queen Room," which did have a queen-sized bed, but the room itself was extremely small. The air conditioning was not very effective, though the water heater functioned properly. While the room was clean, it was not particularly comfortable. However, the location was excellent—just outside the hotel, there were numerous food stalls and restaurants within the same area.
Feb 19, 2025 · Eldion CalmerStayed here recently and I'd say the location is good but it was a very grimey room. I felt quite gross staying here. Probably wouldn't go again. Staff was also quite rude. Better budget options nearby.
Dec 28, 2024 · sam whitrodI spent two weeks at this hotel from October 25 to November 8. The room was small but very clean. The bed was comfortable. I enjoyed being close to a market where you could buy a lot of things. There was also an abundance of restaurants nearby. The hotel itself was simple but very clean. Most of all, the receptionist Maruf was a great help. He not only kept the place clean, he also communicated very nicely with the guests, giving them tips about where to go and what to do in order to make the best of their stay in Kuala Lumpur. I think he does a great job and I certainly hope he will be there when I come again to KL next year. Thanks a lot for your kind attention and excellent service, Maruf. You deserve a ten!
Nov 11, 2024 · Adam DawlaHonestly, I didn’t like it. There were three bathrooms for men but only one for women, which was dirty. I had to ask the person in charge to clean it before I could use it. On top of that, I sometimes had to wait for it to become available. Also, the sheets weren’t very clean either.
Dec 28, 2024 · Elizabeth OjedaThe room was clean the beds were comfy. Everything was clean. The walls are thin and other guests aren’t always very thoughtful so got woken up most nights.Needs a bin in the actual toilet for feminine hygiene products, not just under the sink by the showers. The location on petaling street is annoying to navigate as it is always busy so something to consider
