Surau Ahmad Razali Mohd Ali is conveniently located at Jalan PJU 8/9, Damansara Perdana, 47820 Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. This address places it squarely within the heart of Damansara Perdana, a bustling and well-developed township in Petaling Jaya, known for its residential areas like Flora Damansara. Its presence within a residential zone ensures easy access for the local community, making it a true neighborhood place of worship.
For residents of Flora Damansara and the immediate surrounding areas, the surau is often within comfortable walking distance, providing a convenient option for daily prayers. For those coming from slightly further afield within Damansara Perdana or other parts of Petaling Jaya, the surau is easily reachable by car. These highway connections ensure that the surau is accessible from various parts of Selangor and even Kuala Lumpur.
While public transportation might require a combination of services (e.g., bus routes connecting to Damansara Perdana or ride-hailing services from nearby MRT/LRT stations), the surau's location within a residential hub means that for most of its regular congregants, it is highly accessible and integrated into their daily routines. Ample parking in the immediate vicinity is generally available, a common feature for neighborhood suraus, facilitating ease of visit for congregants, especially during peak prayer times.
As a surau, Surau Ahmad Razali Mohd Ali primarily serves as a place for Muslim worship and religious instruction. The services offered are centered around facilitating spiritual practice and fostering community engagement:
- Daily Prayers (Solat Fardhu): The surau is open for all five daily obligatory prayers, providing a consistent and accessible venue for congregants to perform their solat in jamaah (congregation).
- Friday Prayers (Solat Jumaat): While a customer review indicates that it may no longer be the primary venue for Friday prayers due to the construction of a larger mosque (likely Masjid Damansara Perdana), suraus typically hold Friday prayers if designated and equipped to do so, drawing larger crowds. It's advisable to confirm its current status for Friday prayers directly with the surau management.
- Religious Classes and Study Circles (Tazkirah/Kuliah): Surau often host regular lessons on Quranic recitation, Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), Hadith, and other Islamic sciences, usually conducted by local ustaz or scholars. These serve to deepen the community's religious knowledge.
- Iftar Gatherings during Ramadan: During the holy month of Ramadan, many suraus organize communal iftar (breaking fast) sessions, fostering a strong sense of community and brotherhood.
- Tarawih Prayers during Ramadan: Special congregational prayers performed at night during Ramadan.
- Festive Prayers (e.g., Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha): While larger mosques might be the main venues for Eid prayers, some suraus may also facilitate these, depending on their capacity and local needs.
- Community Support and Welfare: Surau often act as hubs for local welfare initiatives, collecting and distributing zakat or organizing aid for needy families within the community.
These services are vital for nurturing the spiritual well-being and social cohesion of the Damansara Perdana Muslim community.
Surau Ahmad Razali Mohd Ali, while perhaps not as grand as a state mosque, possesses several key features and highlights that make it a cherished and functional community asset:

- Volunteer Opportunities: For locals, the surau offers a chance to contribute to their community through volunteering for maintenance, organizing events, or teaching religious classes, fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility.
- Spiritual Guidance and Counselling: Imams or religious teachers associated with the surau may offer informal spiritual guidance or counselling services to congregants in need, free of charge.
- Charitable Initiatives: Surau often serve as collection points for donations (e.g., zakat, sadaqah) and facilitate their distribution to the needy within the local community, acting as a direct channel for charitable giving and support.
- Comfort and Cleanliness: The recent upgrade with "new carpets and comfortable surau" can be considered an ongoing "offer" of improved facilities for the comfort of its congregants, reflecting continuous efforts to enhance the worship experience.

Jul 31, 2018 · Mohammad UllahFriday prayer for the local congregation here. Very clean and comfortable. The prayer room has been added to accommodate the increased number of pilgrims. The prayer room of the main building has 2 floors. It is enough to accommodate the congregation present for Friday prayers. Car parking space near the surau is very limited and difficult.
