Strategically situated within Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Original Nismilan offers a convenient and accessible dining option for residents and visitors alike. You can find this authentic Malaysian eatery at Medan selera, Jalan Cenderawasih, Tasik Perdana, 50480 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This location places it within a well-known area, making it relatively easy to locate for those familiar with the city's landmarks and public spaces.
Tasik Perdana, also known as the Perdana Botanical Gardens, is a prominent and popular green lung in Kuala Lumpur, drawing many locals for recreation and relaxation. Being situated within or near a "medan selera" (food court) in this area further enhances its accessibility. Food courts are a quintessential part of Malaysian dining culture, offering a variety of food stalls in one central location, often with ample parking and seating. This setup typically ensures that Original Nismilan is easily reachable by various modes of transport.
For those travelling by car, the Tasik Perdana area usually provides designated parking facilities, although it's always advisable to check for specific parking availability during peak hours. The well-connected road network around Jalan Cenderawasih allows for straightforward navigation from different parts of Kuala Lumpur. Public transportation options, while not directly at the doorstep, might include bus routes that service the Tasik Perdana vicinity, requiring a short walk to the food court area. Taxis and ride-sharing services are also readily available throughout Kuala Lumpur, offering a convenient door-to-door option to reach Original Nismilan. Its location within a popular recreational area means it’s often a convenient stop for those visiting the gardens or exploring the surrounding neighbourhood, making it an ideal choice for both a planned meal or a spontaneous culinary stop.
The choice of location within a bustling food court environment like Medan Selera not only enhances accessibility but also contributes to the vibrant, casual dining atmosphere that many Malaysians appreciate. This setting fosters a sense of community and provides a relaxed environment where patrons can enjoy their meals comfortably. The ease of access combined with its central location makes Original Nismilan a practical and appealing choice for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Malaysian cuisine without significant travel hassle within Kuala Lumpur.
Original Nismilan focuses on providing a straightforward and authentic dining experience for its patrons. Based on customer feedback, the restaurant operates on a self-service model, which is common in many Malaysian food courts and local eateries. This approach allows for a quicker and more efficient flow, particularly during busy periods, giving customers the autonomy to select their dishes and process their orders at their own pace.
- Dine-In Service: Patrons can enjoy their meals comfortably within the restaurant's premises, taking advantage of the seating available within the medan selera setting. The self-service model means customers typically collect their food directly from the counter after ordering.
- Takeaway/Tapau Options: For those on the go or preferring to enjoy their meal elsewhere, Original Nismilan offers takeaway services. This allows customers to conveniently pack their favourite dishes to be savoured at home, at work, or any other preferred location.
- Malaysian Cuisine Specialisation: The core service is providing authentic Malaysian dishes. While the specific full menu is not detailed publicly, key highlights from customer reviews indicate a focus on:
- Daging Salai (Smoked Beef): Highly praised by customers as "top-notch," suggesting this is a signature dish and a must-try for new visitors. This traditional smoked beef is a beloved Malaysian delicacy often cooked in a spicy coconut milk gravy (masak lemak cili api).
- Traditional Malaysian Breakfast Items: Reviews mention "half boiled egg" and "roti bakar." While one review pointed out a specific preparation (with sweet soya) and a desire for more traditional accompaniments (kaya and butter), it indicates that these classic breakfast staples are part of their offering. This suggests Original Nismilan caters to early morning diners looking for a taste of local breakfast culture.
- Casual Dining Atmosphere: The self-service nature within a food court setting contributes to a relaxed and informal dining experience, suitable for quick meals, family outings, or casual gatherings.
The emphasis on a self-service model means that while the core service revolves around serving authentic Malaysian food, the interaction with staff might be more transactional. Customers are expected to manage their own ordering and collection processes, which is a familiar concept for many locals frequenting food court environments.
Original Nismilan boasts several features and highlights that contribute to its appeal among locals in Kuala Lumpur:
- Authentic Malaysian Flavours: The primary highlight of Original Nismilan is its commitment to serving genuine Malaysian cuisine. Customer reviews, particularly the praise for "daging salai," underscore its dedication to traditional recipes and local tastes. This focus on authenticity makes it a go-to spot for those craving the true essence of Malaysian food.
- Specialty "Daging Salai": This dish appears to be a major draw, with one customer specifically calling it "top-notch." Daging salai, or smoked beef, is a traditional Malaysian dish often cooked in a rich and spicy gravy. Its prominence in customer feedback suggests it’s a signature item and a must-try for anyone visiting.
- Self-Service Model: While some might prefer full table service, the self-service approach adopted by Original Nismilan is a common feature in many popular local eateries and food courts in Malaysia. This system allows for efficiency, especially during peak hours, and offers customers a sense of autonomy in their dining experience. It caters to a faster-paced dining style often appreciated by locals.
- Casual and Local Dining Environment: Located within a "medan selera" (food court), Original Nismilan offers a casual, no-frills dining atmosphere that is typical of local Malaysian eateries. This setting provides a comfortable and relaxed environment, ideal for everyday meals with family and friends, reflecting the true spirit of community dining in Malaysia.

This versatility makes it suitable for different times of the day.
- Affordable Local Pricing (Implied): While specific prices aren't provided, food court establishments in Malaysia are generally known for offering budget-friendly and value-for-money meals. This makes Original Nismilan an attractive option for locals seeking authentic food without breaking the bank.
These features collectively contribute to Original Nismilan's identity as a beloved local spot. The focus on specific, well-loved Malaysian dishes, combined with a practical dining model and a truly local setting, creates a unique and appealing experience for its patrons.

Daging salai is the top notch. Kedai ni self service guys and customer service okay je overall
May 17, 2025 · Nur Azua Khadijah AzmanI cant put reviews if i dont put star. disappointed with the service, no customer oriented at all. No selamat pagi and smoking next to the food. We ordered half boiled egg and they served with sweet soya. Such a classic malaysian breakfast. Could have told us that they dont have kicap masin(salted soya) and do we still want them. Even the roti bakar, no kaya no butter no taste. The bread is completely crushed. No effort to make us client to feel welcome.
May 17, 2025 · Yati RoberThe shop is clean.Breakfast has many choices. I like sambal paru the most. Mild, spicy and sweet. If the sweet part is reduced a little, then Acik is a KM goldsmith who cannot be separated.Teh tarik is thick but seems to be less sweet. It's suitable.Tempoyok puc kayu is delicious, just reduce the sweetness. Let it taste original. It's more delicious for Acik's taste. But hey, other people have different tastes.Whatever this food court is, when Acik came, only two shops were open, the other shops were closed. I don't know, they opened late or what.Thursday 29/5/25
May 29, 2025 · Norsimah RamliIt's a shame who doesn't come to the shop, the cooking of the fat is crazy thick, not like other shops, the smoked meat tastes smoky and then it melts when you eat it.
May 16, 2025 · faiz khairiChicken penyet, chicken geprek are so delicious...if you eat here, you'll definitely want to go back...🥰🥰
