Sea turtle mural Introduce
For locals in Pahang, especially those residing in Kuantan, exploring the hidden beauties and unique attractions within their own backyard is a delightful pursuit. While Kuantan boasts stunning beaches and lush hills, a relatively recent addition has captured the hearts of many: the Sea Turtle Mural. More than just a piece of art, this vibrant mural transforms a simple coastal walk into a memorable journey, blending the serene beauty of the shoreline with a powerful message of marine conservation. It's a testament to Kuantan's evolving identity as a city that cherishes both its natural environment and its artistic expression.
This article is specifically designed for the residents of Pahang, aiming to illuminate the charm and accessibility of the Sea Turtle Mural. We will guide you through its location, how to get there, what to expect along the way, and why this unique "hiking area" – though more of a scenic walk – has become a cherished spot for families, art lovers, and casual strollers alike. As shared by real visitors, while it requires a "quite a long distance" walk from certain parking spots, the destination is rewarded with "beautiful and look fantastic" drawings. Parking near Sutravilla Apartment and "walking along the seaside" are key tips, with the reminder that while small stalls offer "kuih-muih and drinks," there are "NO toilet here." This valuable local insight helps visitors plan their trip effectively.
The Sea Turtle Mural offers a distinct outdoor experience that perfectly complements Kuantan's coastal allure. It's a gentle reminder of the importance of protecting our precious marine life, all while enjoying the refreshing sea breeze and captivating views. Let's delve into what makes this artistic coastal trek a must-do for every local in Pahang.
Location and Accessibility
The Sea Turtle Mural is located at R9MG+VG, 26100 Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia, nestled along the rocky shoreline of Tanjung Pelindung, which is part of the broader Pantai Pelindung area. This strategic placement ensures it's easily accessible for locals in Kuantan, albeit requiring a pleasant walk to reach the artistic marvel.
Based on local reviews, the most common and recommended access point for visitors is to "park our car near roadside Pantai Pelindung" or "Parking at beside Sutravilla Apartment." Sutravilla Apartment is a well-known landmark in the Pelindung area, making it an excellent reference point for navigation. From these parking areas, visitors will embark on a scenic coastal walk. The journey involves walking "quite a long distance" along "the small road to seaside," and then "walking along the seaside you will see the turtle." This indicates a blend of paved paths and sandy/rocky beach stretches.
For locals driving, ample street parking can usually be found near Pantai Pelindung or Sutravilla Apartment, though it's always wise to arrive earlier on weekends or public holidays when the area might be busier. The walk itself is generally flat along the coastline, making it suitable for most fitness levels, but as noted by a reviewer, "elderly visitors should take note of the distance." This gentle "hike" allows visitors to truly appreciate the coastal environment, with the sound of waves accompanying their journey.
The mural's proximity to other popular Kuantan attractions like Teluk Cempedak further enhances its appeal. Visitors can easily combine a visit to the Sea Turtle Mural with a stroll along Teluk Cempedak Beach, making for a fulfilling day out exploring Kuantan's charming coastline.
