Hatter's Castle Reviews
Visited the plantation in March 2025 and saw nice residences in the area. The plantation has s good for cycling and offers a few spots to explore. However Hatter’s Castle is not really a castle but still a nice historical building, worth visiting. Nearby is also a church, good to drop by for a visit
Mar 09, 2025 · Thomas FridrichFancy having tea at the Mad Hatter's party? This hidden gem feels literally like a page off Alice in Wonderland. Hidden within the dense foliage of the vast palm oil plantation deep inside Carey Island, no one would've expected that this place existed. Conferred with heritage status, this castle was built circa 1920s. Place is well maintained, and the gardens are beautifully kept. Opens only on weekdays, entrance is free. You will need to waze yourself here, and keep a lookout for a police sentry to register yourselves in. Its another 7-8km drive deep inside before you reach this majestic castle.

Feb 27, 2025 · Ren ShizuoriHatter's Castle is a heritage building located within Sime Darby's private property. Built in the 1920s, the bungalow’s design was so well received at the time that it became the model for all hill station and plantation bungalows erected during the colonial era. About an hour's drive from Petaling Jaya you need to enter the Sime Darby main gate to reach Hatter's Castle. There is no entrance fee but since we did not make any prior arrangements, we were only able to see the outside of the bungalow. The maintenance team were kind enough to use the toilet so we got a quick glimpse of the interior. There are 3 large banyan trees with fascinating roots in the well-kept gardens. The gardener and contractor working there were very friendly and all smiles. The contractor told us his grandfather used to work here and sent us some old photos. It's great that this heritage building is restored and maintained.
Sep 26, 2020 · S L ChongMany movies were shoot in this castle and near by locations. We only viewed externally since not allowed to to enter inside. The castle looks colonial but with some modern touch. Must visit if your are at Carey Island.
